Butt-load

Interesting fact - a butt-load is the equivalent of 450 US gallons.

So now when and if you use the term you know what you are saying... I was wondering if it was an actual measurement or not so I googled it and it is!

Since we all know the term I have to say that today we got a Butt-load of snow... I know it probably was not 450 US gallons... but it was a lot. I moved snow for 3 freaking hours today... LAME... OH, Hey my car got stuck in my yard cause I couldn't park it on the street cause of all the snow...

The World At Large.

Ice-age heat wave, can't complain.
If the world's at large, why should I remain?
Walked away to another plan.
Gonna find another place, maybe one I can stand.
I move on to another day, to a whole new town with a whole new way.
Went to the porch to have a thought.
Got to the door and again, I couldn't stop.
You don't know where and you don't know when.
But you still got your words and you got your friends.
Walk along to another day.
Work a little harder, work another way.

Well uh-uh baby I ain't got no plan.
We'll float on maybe would you understand?
Gonna float on maybe would you understand?
Well I'll float on maybe would you understand?

The days get shorter and the nights get cold.
I like the autumn but this place is getting old.
I pack up my belongings and I head for the coast.
It might not be a lot but I feel like I'm making the most.
The day's get longer and the nights smell green.
I guess it's not surprising but it's spring and I should leave.

I like songs about drifters - books about the same.
They both seem to make me feel a little less insane.
Walked on off to another spot.
I still haven't got anywhere that I want.
Did I want love? Did I need to know?
Why does it always feel like I'm caught in an undertow?

The moths beat themselves to death against the lights.
Adding their breeze to the summer nights.
Outside, water like air was great.
I didn't know what I had that day.
Walk a little farther to another plan.
You said that you did, but you didn't understand.

I know that starting over is not what life's all about.
But my thoughts were so loud, I couldn't hear my mouth.
My thoughts were so loud, I couldn't hear my mouth.
My thoughts were so loud.

music=power... its amazing how it can mean so many things on so many different levels to so many different people. i hope you enjoy.

The Charley Song... The End of an Era.

So Badger Camp has come to an end... the last Friday night was the end of the year banquet and well a couple good ole' chaps Zach and John wrote me a song... I had a camper during the 2 week session of camp and his name was Charley... I freakin' LOVE him, he is amazing, and pretty much the most foul mouthed kid I have ever met... real funny stuff. They took a bunch of quotes of his and put them into a song. Now Charley can be VERY, I repeat VERY, offensive at times but he is friggin' funny and I haven't a clue where he got all the crap he said from. Well I guess I will let you enjoy it too... Ladies and Gentelmen, The Charley Song....

This may OFFEND many people so if you don't like it don't watch it.

This is the real deal folks, Charley did say crap like this and it was an amazing summer I am going to miss it soo much, the campers, and all the other staff. You have all made one of the best summers of my life, thanks.

DC Trip Update II

For our first stop on our trek we hit up the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio... I have been here before but its still amazing to see all the great memorabilia, the building in itself is pretty much the coolest thing since sliced bread...
After spending a few hours at the Hall of Fame (I could spend days there) we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe... It was really good and we had an amazing waiter, I think I could be friends with him...
Oh... we have a way sweet bus driver cause when he dropped us off at Hard Rock he pulled into this little street and this was the scene.

Then we boarded the bus and cruised out to Bedford, PA. The following is the scene after we got out of dinner tonight.
Goodnight world more updates tomorrow... gosh i have to be up at 5 am not cool anyway it will be cool.

8.21.2008

DC Trip Update I

So I'm on my way to good ole' Washington DC... Tonight I am in Toledo, Ohio... more updates later... have to be up in less than 6 hours so I should sleep... goodnight world!

8.12.2008

the end is near

badger camp is almost over... it will be on saturday. it is a good and bad thing all at the same time. one of the hardest, most rewarding jobs i have ever had will be over. i also have to say goodbye to alot of cool people that i have gotten to know VERY well over the past 11 weeks. oh but hey i get to go to washington dc for free because of camp. i was chosen to be a counselor on a see america trip... i leave the 21st and get back on the 29th so it should be pretty sweet so im pumped.

6.22.2008

mmm badger camp

for all of you who do read this and dont know... i have a job at wisconsin badger camp for the summer. camp is an amazing place where people with special needs come for a week at a time and pretty much have a little holiday. i am a camp counselor so its all pretty interesting... every week i get 3-4 people to hang out with and take care of for the week. so far it has been amazing and i love it. my campers the past 2 weeks have been amazing. working here is very stressful but its totally worth it.... like if there high needs i have to do everything.... like toilet and shower them.... if there independent i just make sure they are just having a good time and not doing anything bad... you be there friend and have a great time with them. its really an amazing place to learn and grow as a person. i work with people from all over the us and the world... there are soo many amazing people from all over. im am soo glad that i have gotten to meet every single one of them because they are so amazing. like the thing i think people need to understand about this job is it is all about self sacrifice... and doing service to others. another people need to understand is people are people... no matter if they have some sort of disability they are still people. camp is all about the little joys in life doing small things for people to see there faces light up. working here has probably been one of the hardest, most stressful things i have ever done bit its is so worth it. in these two weeks i have learned and grown soo much and i really am looking forward to the next 8 to see what they bring. "mmm badger camp, mmm badger camp its the finest place to be."

Nauvoo Weekend

Well we got to Nauvoo at about 10 on Friday night so we unpacked the van, checked into the Nauvoo Inn and pretty much just went to sleep. On Saturday morning Ryan and Christi took the girls to the park and I just sat around the hotel room and watched tv. They got back and I had the great privilege of watched the girls so they could go to the temple. The following picture is what it looked like when they finally fell asleep.
Then that afternoon we went out and saw some of the historical stuff and took a sweet wagon tour around old Nauvoo. The wagon was pulled by 2 horses that weighed a ton each, it was pretty windy and kinda cold, but it was very enjoyable.
Sunday morning we packed up the van and checked out of the hotel and went to church there were a lot of people and even the bishop said that he wasn't expecting that many people there. After church we went to Camp Nauvoo and set up camp and such. It was a really nice day but it was really humid. It was a good afternoon, I just chilled a bit and it was enjoyable.
After the kids got up from there nap we headed over to Carthage, where the Prophet Joseph Smith was martyred, in June of 1944 in the Carthage Jail. After that we decided to have some food and then we went to the park which just so happened to have a disc golf course. So luckily Ryan and I brought our discs cause we both know you can't leave home without them. Ryan did better than I did. It was only a 9 hole course and he got 2 aces, to my defence the holes were really short most of them were less than 80 feet. Monday we decided to hit up some more historical stuff and go back to Lancaster. So all in all it was a good weekend.

5.24.2008

Memorial Day Weekend

Hmmph.... Memorial Day.... what does it all mean? Well this great day/weekend for many people is the first weekend of summer and its a nice 3 day weekend. Well it is all of that but its also a day to remember the many men and women that have fallen to make our country the way it is. Without them this country would not be the way it is. It is also a time to remember all our troops now, and no matter what you think of what they are doing and the reasons they are there we need to support them. Without our support they will never come home, which is what we all want them to do is to COME HOME.

Well now I will stop ranting and say what I originally wanted to say. Last night the Daltons and I made the 5 hour trek to Historical Nauvoo, ILL. It's the first time I have been here and it's all pretty exciting and I hope the rain holds off so we can go see all the sights. As of right now I'm watching the kids so Ryan + Christi can go to the temple.

Pictures and more to come soon.

best game ever

d-d-dont stop the beat

dont stop the beat, no matter what life throws at us we cant stop the beat and have to keep going.

"God expects you to have enough faith and determination and enough trust in Him to keep moving, keep living, keep rejoicing. In fact, He expects you not simply to face the future (that sounds pretty grim and stoic); He expects you to embrace and shape the future--to love it and rejoice in it and delight in your opportunities.

"God is anxiously waiting for the chance to answer your prayers and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He can't if you don't pray, and He can't if you don't dream. In short, He can't if you don't believe."

-Jeffrey R. Holland, 9-12-04

4.06.2008

NOT just words.

some people dont like change but i on the other hand embrace change, i think change is good it keeps life interesting. another great thing in life is choice, some choices in life are very hard, and may be for good or bad. something that may seem like it will be easy isnt always the best choice. sometimes the hard decisions are what matter the most. the fray said "sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same". they change your life. the choices are great and small, easy and hard.

we make soo many choices a day that we may not even notice them. they can be as simple as getting out of bed on time. but some may be harder, much, much harder. but if you know that the choice you are making is right, if you feel it is what you need to do with all your heart and soul, even if its one of the hardest choices you have ever made, if you know it is right and what needs to be done. it may be hard but it will be worth it in the end. i would like to share a quote, actually its my favorite quote:

"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones that don't, and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy; they just promised it'd be worth it."

that quote talks about change, choice and also love. where would be all be without love. alot of people say money or materialistic things make to world go round. but i say that love makes the world go round. and as the beatles said:

without love for one another the world would be a much worse place than it already is. i see and hear about people all the time that are full of love and what great joy it brings them to show there love to others. i also hear about people full of hate, when i hear storys about these people i wounder how they can truly go on everyday just being full of hate, i think that that would be really draining on ones soul.

so there are the words take them ponder them, what do you think about change, if someone is different, physically, mentally or spiritually how do you view them? the world dosent need anymore hate. so why should we add to it, make the difference, people are different, without that the world would be one sad, bland place. show people that are different than you that you care, and if someone you are close to gets a chance and decides to take it, and if it changes there life, embrace them, because who knows the change that they have made is probably worth all the trouble they have went through.

its hard enough to be in the world as it is. so just accept people for there differences.

the reason i started this blog

so what do we believe, 13 simple beliefs from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

The Articles of Faith
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.

3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.

8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

kilby court

so when i was out in utah i went to this venue called kilby court and it was pretty sweet. i cant describe in words how indie-ghetto (ghetto as in sweet ghetto) this place was. it was amazing i saw the helio sequence and they play a rockin show. there was also this local band there called patter stats and they were great. so i will try to discribe this place to you and you may be able to understand its awesomeness factor. well you walk down into this cul-de-sac in the industrial part of salt lake city. indiemo kids as far as the eye can see there are 2 warehouses on each side of the street. you walk down into the cul-de-sac part and on your right there are two crappy houses with blue lights in the upper level. straight ahead is a big run down old building that is pretty much just a big shed, this is where the bathrooms are and a chill room for the bands. on your left there is a fence and a garage. you walk in the opening in the fence and there is a court yard ahead of you but to your right there is this like lemonade stand where you pay for your ticket and can buy soda and such. in the middle of the court yard there is a fire pit with a bunch of chairs around it on the left side of the court yard there is the murch shack and on the right is the garage. now you are all confused with your directions and are saying to your self i thought you said that you saw bands there and you have said nothing of a stage. well im getting there so just a min. so you go in the garage and thats where the stage is. its pretty sweet during the show there were between 100 and 200 people packed into this old garage. ok now its time for pictures and some free music.

i present Find Yourself Some Confetti

so i talked about this in the project will continue so here it is.

download mp3: Find Yourself Some Confetti

enjoy. it may be redone at some point in time and evolve who knows.

2.14.2008

the project will continue

so to the people who check this regularly im sorry for the neglect but my borrowed internet has been acting up as of late

so as some of you have probably read/downloaded my death 2 butt cheese project (read about that project here) i have decided to continue with the project of electronic compilation things and have another one done. it shall be posted later this week. the reason i have decided to do this is so that i can have something to do during this never ending winter. i just remembered the old tape deck (pic below) that i have and it will work perfectly cause it plays things backwards (at least i think it does).

so thats sweet. i just really want to get one of those little tape recorders now and i will be fully in business. but yes im excited and i will probably get that other one posted asap. its called "Find Yourself Some Confetti" (this one is all electronic ). is there reason behind the title??? not really it was just a phrase that came up in conversation. as well the title of my blog "with a baggie on her forearm" is also a phrase that came up in conversation and its thanks to my friend TRACI (i told her i would eventualy give her the credit she deserved). o and the song title is because of miss katy coon. so there credit has been given where credit is due o and since im crediting people mr. jeff martin was my partner in the class i made death 2 butt cheese in so yes he helped. now all of you get excited for Find Yourself Some Confetti!!! (no tape machines were harmed in the making of Find Yourself Some Confetti, but the making of Death 2 Butt Cheese is a different story.)

until we meet again...

a tribute to a great man/hinckley challenge

today i have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 6 months. WOW time flies!!!!

Gordon Bitner Hinckley (June 23, 1910 -- January 27, 2008) was an American religious leader who served as the fifteenth president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from March 12, 1995 until his death. He was the oldest person to preside over the Church in its history.

the following is a little video in remembrance of President Hinckley

also i have found out about this thing called the Hinckley Challenge and its pretty cool im doing it. the challange started on febuary 4th and ends may 10th but dont think its too late to start cause i started on the 7th. the best part about it is that it charts your progress and stuff and calculates how many pages you have to read per day and its different for everyone depending on like if you read the allotted amount every day or if you start it late it figures it out for you so you dont have to go through all the trouble of doing it yourself heres a bit more from the website about it:

President Hinckley often stressed our making the Book of Mormon part of our lives. He was 97 when he passed away, and we would like to celebrate his life and teachings by reading the Book of Mormon in 97 days.

President Gordon B. Hinckley on the Book of Mormon
"I take in my hand the Book of Mormon. I read its words. I have read Joseph Smith's explanation of how it came to be. To the unbelieving it is a story difficult to accept, and critics for generations have worn out their lives writing books intended to refute that story and to offer other explanations than the one given by Joseph the Prophet. But to the open-minded, this critical writing has only stimulated them to dig deeper; and the more deeply they dig, the greater the accumulation of evidence for the validity of Joseph Smith's story. Still, as has been demonstrated for a hundred and fifty years, the truth of the Book of Mormon will not be determined by literary analysis or by scientific research, although these continue to be reassuring. The truth about the origins of the Book of Mormon will be determined today and tomorrow, as it has been throughout the yesterdays, by reading the book in a spirit of reverence and respect and prayer."

TWLOHA

so i have known about this organization for a while now i think its an amazing cause and i totally support it. the name of the organization is To Write Love On Her Arms. TWLOHA is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for those struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.

"The truth is that according to the World Health Organization, depression is one of the leading causes of disability, with approximately 121 million people suffering with depression worldwide. The National Institute of Mental Health states that approximately 18 million people suffer from depression in America alone. Depression does not discriminate across age, race, gender, or class. Among teenagers it is estimated that 20 percent will suffer from depression at some point by the time they reach adulthood. There are also as many as 8.3 percent of teens suffering from depression for at least a year at a time, compared to 5.3 percent of the general population."
they do many things to reach out to people and one of the main ways is though music.
"During the time of year that suicude rates are at their highest, we chose February 13, the day before Valentine's Day, as our opportunity to start showing people how mcuh they are loved. We will physically write the word LOVE on our arms (with a sharpie, or whatever other ink suits you best). If someone asks you what it’s for, tell them about TWLOHA. Tell them they are loved, that they are important. And ask if you can write LOVE on their arm as a symbol of that. Don't be afraid to reach out to those who need love, those who you often walk right by every day. They need our care."

a great man is no longer on the earth

a great man has passed this past sunday. many of you not of my faith probably dont know what i am talking about but President Gordon B. Hinckley, the great prophet died on Sunday, January 27, 2008.

he died in his apartment in downtown salt lake city at 7:00 pm, members of his family were at his bedside. Gordon led the church for 12 years of great expansion.

"President Hinckley was known, even at the age of 97, as a tireless leader who always put in a full day at the office and traveled extensively around the world to mix with Church members, now numbering 13 million in 171 nations."

even though i only knew of the man for about 7 months i respected him greatly, he was a great man.

i have a disease...

and the only prescription is more JUNO!!!!!!

gosh i cant get enough of this movie i know i have already blogged about it but today i had a urge to watch it again so i had to of course... it has some of the best lines in it ever like:

That ain't no Etch A Sketch. This is one doodle that can't be undid, Homeskillet.

Mac MacGuff: Did you see that coming when she sat us down here?
Bren MacGuff: Yeah, but I was hoping she was expelled or into hard drugs.
Mac MacGuff: That was my first instinct too. Or a D.W.I. Anything but this.

all time fav:Next time I see that Bleeker kid I'm going to punch him in the wiener.

Juno: Your little girlfriend gave me the stinkeye in art class yesterday.
Paulie: Katrina's not my girlfriend alright? And I doubt she gave you the stinkeye that's just how her face looks, you know? That's just her face.

Mac MacGuff: Are you having boy trouble because I gotta be honest I don't really much approve of you dating in your condition. That's, uh, that's kinda messed up.
Juno: No, Dad, it's not--
Mac MacGuff: I mean that's pretty skanky. Isn't that what you girls call it? Skanky? Skeevy?
Juno: Please stop.
Mac MacGuff: Tore up from the floor up?

Like I'd never marry you, you'd be the meanest wife ever ok? And I know that you weren't bored that day. Because there was a lot of stuff on tv and The Blair Witch Project was coming on Stars and you were like, "I haven't seen this since it came out and so we should watch it," but oh no we should just make out instead la la la...

so again andy says go see juno NOW!!!
